This original shed-door design features a Z-cross brace for added strength. Aptly named, this raw door is made of simple, clean pine and is ready to receive your personal touch. Choose from a variety of wood dressings, such as linseed oil for that outdoor smell, a wood-stain finish with a clear sealer, or use paint for countless aesthetic options. Please note: We must recommend application of wood dressing; wood is a cellular living material, which needs to be protected from heat and moisture cycles within any home.
Recommendations for installation: 1) Purchase a door at least two inches wider and no shorter than the door opening you intend to cover 2) If mounting sliding barn door hardware, allow a minimum of 5 inches between ceiling and top of the door opening 3) If mounting sliding barn door hardware to drywall, a one-inch thick header board is recommended. All sliding barn doors come fully assembled although sliding barn door hardware itself requires some assembly and installation.
